“Tender, sensuous and exquisite”

About Still I Rise

TRIBE//s debut work Still I Rise is a call to arms performed by an all-female cast.
Danced with full bodied urgency and gutsy power, this raw visceral and emotive work from choreographer Victoria Fox creates a fragile world of simmering tensions and unrest. The work channels the resilient, unapologetic nature of the iconic poem by Maya Angelou. An unflinching relentless hope for the human spirit runs through this dance work. Cinematic sounds from pounding beats to stirring classical arias, drives the journey onwards. Falling down, gathering up…we rise

  • I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the show on Saturday! I’m totally new to dance and it felt simultaneously accessible and sophisticated; so good to see five strong, powerful and sexy women perform such a moving piece which radically extended my perception of what Dance can be and do.

  • Wow - exciting and strong! I felt so emotionally connected to what was going on
